Always Together

'"No one else can have you..." I said in a trembling voice. I wrapped my cold, shaking fingers lightly around his neck. I applied forward pressure, causing both of us to lose balance and topple forward to the ground. I never let go of his throat. Leaning over him, tears falling, I choked out, "If we can't live together we will die together."
He smiled as if it was the conclusion he expected me to reach all along. My victim gasped, his natural instinct to breath taking over, but his quivering hand reached up and ran lightly along my cheek. I winced, in emotional pain, and before I knew it my grip had loosened.'
